Welcome to Kennedy Creek!
For the 2022 season, the Trail will be open to the public Saturday – Sunday from Saturday, October 29th until Sunday, November 27th. The gate will open at 10 am and close at 4 pm on those weekend dates. The trail gate will be locked Monday – Friday but we are scheduling field trips during those days for youth and adult groups (classes, homeschool groups, scouts, senior centers, etc.). On weekends, docents will be on hand to answer questions, however, they do not provide guided tours on those days. When visiting the Trail, please follow current state guidelines regarding COVID-19 protocols.
The Trail will be open to the public the following dates, 10am-4pm:
- October 29, 30
- November 5, 6
- November 11 (Veterans Day), 12, 13
- November 19, 20
- November 25 (Day after Thanksgiving), 26, 27
The Trail will be closed on Thanksgiving.
Directions:
DO NOT drive through the gate unless you have scheduled a visit with us. The gate must remain closed and locked at all times except for weekends in November and we don’t want you to get locked in.

If you’d like to schedule a visit to Kennedy Creek with your class please contact Megan Brady, KCST Coordinator at (360) 701-6907 or by email at . Visits to the Trail are free, however schools are responsible for transportation. If desired we can provide a curriculum for teachers to use in the classroom to help prepare students for their visit.
Docent- or SPSSEG staff-led field trip tours for youth and adult groups are available Monday-Friday 9am-4pm during November 3-23.

Docents are integral to Kennedy Creek and as one long-time docent put it “you don’t know what a good time is until you’ve poked a salmon carcass with a bunch of curious 4th graders.”
All this information you’ll need as a trail guide is covered during your training and is found in the docent notebooks we provide you with. All you need to bring is your enthusiasm and a good rain jacket!
