SPSSEG Spring Meeting!
SPSSEG is holding its first annual Spring Meeting in Puyallup! First we will hear about the Status and Trends of the Puyallup River Salmon by Russ Ladley from the Puyallup Tribe. Then our very own Kristin Williamson will fill us in on the Habitat Restoration Efforts taking place in the Puyallup River Watershed. Our key note speaker Kim Gridley the LID Program Coordinator for WSU (former SPSSEG Project Manager) will wrap up the event with a tour of low impact development techniques and designs in the form of permeable pavement and rain gardens!
For all of our members, supporters, and those who are just curious if you live in the area please stop by and learn about salmon restoration in your local watershed.
Thursday, June 14th, 2012; 5:30-8:00pm. Open to the Public- WSU Puyallup Research and Extension 2606 West Pioneer Way, Puyallup, WA

Volunteers Wanted!!! Capital City Marathon!
Have you ever wanted to participate in a marathon, but didn’t want to wear out your exercise shoes or get all sweaty? Well now you can! SPSSEG is looking for some volunteers to man and/or women a water station at the Capital City Marathon (Olympia Marathon). As a volunteer you will receive all the benefits of participating in a marathon (comradery, the sense of accomplishment, being outside in the sun, etc) without having to deal with the 26 mile course. At the water station you will cheer racers on while handing them cups of H2O to keep them hydrated. Its a great way to be involved in our local community! Our water station is looking for volunteers between the hours of 7 -11 am on Sunday May 20th. You can sign up part-time or whole time. Please contact Lance for sign up or questions at lancew@spsseg.org.
