Kennedy Creek Salmon Trail Opens

Come on out to the best chum salmon viewing trail in the Northwest!  The Kennedy Creek Salmon Trail is open to the general public this weekend – November 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The chum are running and there is a lot to see. This one mile easy hike through our Northwest Rain Forest is a great way to spend an afternoon or a couple hours.  Volunteer Docents will be on hand to answer questions and provide insights into salmon spawning behavior.  Please come dressed for the weather, leave your dog at home and make the Trail an afternoon outing.

We have been hosting grade school kids every day this week. On average, there are between one and three classes – that’s approximately 90 kids a day!  By the end of the season, every Olympia School District 4th Grade class will have visited the Trail.  This is a fabulous learning experience for youngsters.
